A recovering alcoholic school professor trying to put the life back together meets the seductive new student. The girl offers him a sensuous escape from reality until he realizes she may be insane.
We Belong Together, like most “That woman will be crazy! ” films, does not make said woman an intricate figure but more so some sort of generic replica of precisely what you’re already familiar with. 26-year-old Tracy has just got away from jail and enrolled in a college in Los Angeles, probably Sacramento, for reasons unfamiliar. We’re never told her major or interest, just that the lady ends up in a Mythology cup ran by a Mr. Jones Lewis.
Someone who just recently acquired off a sabbatical this individual took due to his living falling apart. Yet, with him or her sober now and mending the relationships he destroyed, he feels stable and perchance happy. That’s until Tracy, jealous of the closeness Thomas has with his TA, Leslie, decides she wants the dog. Thus leading to a series of occasions you can likely already guess. Well, outside of the ending, the industry minor change from what we usually see.
Initially, I thought this is going to be like Only For 1 Night in, despite the low expectations for Draya Michele, the bar would be raised. That, in some ways, it was. But, I must admit, I don’t recognize if it was her behaving and how she played away Whitfield or because of how much Stoke plays on her attractiveness which leaves you breathless. For with the way We all Belong Together is hit, you come to understand how Jones was seduced.
How, despite his mind saying simply no, temptation, over and over, wore along his morals and sense of right and incorrect until he couldn’t aid but give in. Especially considering he was single, likely has not been with someone in months, maybe over a 12 months, and it isn’t like the girl had any friends past his AA sponsor and his TA. Tracy (Draya Michele) trying to invite Thomas to possess sex. Initially, I thought this became going to be like Only For A single Night in, despite the very low expectations for Draya Michele, the bar would be raised. Which usually, in some ways, it was. How, in spite of his mind saying zero, temptation, over and over, wore straight down his morals and feeling of right and inappropriate until he couldn’t support but give in. Especially contemplating he was single, likely has not been with someone throughout months, maybe over a yr, and it isn’t like the dude had any friends over and above his AA sponsor great TA. But, as we endeavor into Tracy getting a bit crazy, that is when Michele is apparently pushing herself past where she is as an actress.
Which often isn’t to say she cannot play crazy, the way your ex eyes look in some displays may give you pause, but between her dialog, typically the performance, and the story?
You will find a strong vibe that when this particular film was made, they should have followed the policy regarding “Less is more. ” Critique They Could Have Made Tracy’s Reason behind Flipping Out Better The issue with damn near all films like this is they generate the woman crazy without placing much, if any, onus on the man. And actually, yes Tracy did rest about quite a few things, yet there were multiple warning signs, as noted, that Thomas disregarded.
Some of which should have made it crystal clear, if you are going to have sex with this lady on the regular, be full-on intimate, you should come appropriate.
Yet, the film does not really allow Tracy to get someone complex and complex. Her mental illness, as it is often used in films similar to this, is just a quick and easy means to explain why she is acting just how she does. That and because, I guess, the d*** was so bomb that the lady couldn’t allow someone to get in the way of consistent appointments.
That seems like such lazy writing, since we see it sometimes, that it takes away from every little thing Michele was doing in which made this seem like a good function for her.
